The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) started Learn to Homebrew Day back in 1999 as a way for homebrewers to share their hobby with non-brewing friends and family. This Saturday at hundreds of sites worldwide the tradition will be continued. Last year there were 360 registered sites in 47 states and 10 different countries that claimed to brew 6,284 gallons (23,787 liters) with nearly 6,000 participants.
I have registered my home as of today to participate in the event on Saturday in Mong Kok. We will be brewing either a Cranberry Wheat or a Smoky Brown Ale - both for a Thanksgiving event later this month. This is the only participating site in Hong Kong at the moment and you are more than welcome to join in. It is last-minute, but If you are interested just send me an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year may be more impromptu, but I plan to have a bigger event next year at Back to School Brewing.
